Blood tests for HIV patients are only available from Monday to Thursday. Unfortunately, we cannot offer appointments for blood tests for HIV-positive patients on public holidays. Please keep this in mind when booking your appointment! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

General Information about HIV Treatment<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Antiretroviral therapy is a fundamental component of care for individuals living with HIV:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This involves a combination of two or three active ingredients, usually in a single tablet, to be taken just once a day. While a complete cure for HIV infection remains elusive, recent advancements in treatment have significantly improved outcomes, with the treatment now being referred to as a chronic condition that can be managed to allow for a normal life expectancy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime, injections administered at two-month intervals are now available as an alternative to daily tablets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pr\u00e4expositionsprophylaxe (PrEP)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Die HIV-Pr\u00e4expositionsprophylaxe verhindert bei ungesch\u00fctztem Geschlechtsverkehr eine \u00dcbertragung des HI-Virus durch die Einnahme von Medikamenten:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In einer Kombinationstablette werden die Wirkstoffe Emtricitabin und Tenofovir entweder t\u00e4glich oder in einer sogenannten \u201eoff-label\u201c- Anwendung nur bei Bedarf eingenommen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bei Vaginalverkehr wird ausschlie\u00dflich die t\u00e4gliche Einnahme empfohlen, die bedarfsweise Anwendung ist nur bei Analverkehr m\u00f6glich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zu beachten ist, dass die PrEP nur vor einer HIV-Infektion sch\u00fctzt, nicht aber vor anderen sexuell \u00fcbertragbaren Krankheiten (STIs) wie Syphilis, Tripper (Gonokokken) oder Chlamydien-Infektionen. Der beste Schutz vor STIs ist daher nach wie vor der Gebrauch eines Kondoms!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die PrEP ist mittlerweile kostenlos bzw. wird zu 100% von den Krankenkassen r\u00fcckerstattet: F\u00fcr Beratungen (25\u20ac) und Medikamente sind ca. 50\u20ac f\u00fcr 30 St\u00fcck auszulegen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
